It's our purpose at Immanuel to gather in the name of Jesus to worship, to proclaim his Word, and to extend a hand of loving service to our community and our world.
Immanuel is a worshipping community committed to the Lutheran distinctives of salvation by grace through faith, under the full authority of God's Word, but relaxed in matters of liturgy.
In our worship service we seek to blend contemporary and traditional, giving primary place to the preaching of the Word. In our Sunday Bible Study we seek to give to people of all stages of life a thorough grounding in Scripture truth.
Immanuel has a lively interest in and commitment to world missions, and we're seeking to reach out in love to our neighborhood. We're affiliated with the Church of the Lutheran Brethren, a fellowship of Lutherans committed to evangelism at home and around the world.
From Pastor Steve Lazicki
"I rejoiced with those who said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord." Those words were penned long ago by David -- musician, poet, and king of Israel. If he had much of a hand in the service, you can well imagine someone’s delight in going there. The show must have been good.
But God's people still meet joyfully, with show or without, no matter if their sacred space be a cathedral, a living room or the shade of a tree. Those living under the threat of persecution meet joyfully, though doing so can cost them their freedom and even their lives
Why gather? This, at least. To bond with people committed to one another: bearing each other’s burdens, laughing and crying together, each doing his or her utmost to support and encourage and build up the rest. Giving and receiving God’s love is what church ought to be about, and it’s our goal to make that a reality here at Immanuel. You're welcome today, to rejoice and pray and worship with us.
Take a look at our activities page for details of what we do every week, or contact us for more information.
