FROM PASTOR STEVE
"I rejoiced with those who said to me, Let us go to
the house of the Lord."

Those words were penned long ago by David -- musician, poet, and king
of Israel.  If he had much of a hand in the temple service, you can well
imagine someone’s delight in going there.  The show must have been
good.

But God's people still meet joyfully, with show or without, no matter if their
sacred space be a cathedral, a living room or the shade of a tree.  Those
living under the threat of persecution meet joyfully, though doing so can
cost them their freedom and even their lives

Why gather?  This, at least.  To bond with people committed to one
another: bearing each other’s burdens, laughing and crying together,
each doing his or her utmost to support and encourage and build up the
rest.  Giving and receiving God’s love is what church ought to be about,
and it’s our goal to make that a reality here at Immanuel.  You're welcome
today, to rejoice and pray and worship with us.
